Police investigating after 2 found dead in Fargo apartment

FARGO — Police have found two dead in a Fargo apartment. Fargo police conducted a welfare check at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at an apartment in the 3100 block of 44th Street South, Capt. Matt Christensen said in a statement. Police were unable to make contact with the people in the apartment, so officers asked the Fargo Fire Department for assistance in opening the apartment, he said. Police found the two people dead inside the apartment and asked the Criminal Investigations Unit to assist with the case, Christensen said. The causes of death are currently under investigation pending an autopsy, he said. At this preliminary stage of the investigation, there were no obvious signs indicating the cause or manner of death for either individual. We are awaiting autopsy results for that determination. The police department did not provide further information, including on whether the deaths were suspicious. ]]>
