Horace, ND City Council votes 3-1 to remove flock cameras

HORACE, N.D. (KFGO-KVRR) Flock cameras will no longer be used in Horace. The city council voted 3-1 on Monday to have them removed. Councilmember Chad Chalmers was behind the effort to take the surveillance cameras down over a loss of privacy and liberty. Councilmember Ross Renner, a former Fargo deputy police chief, voted against the motion. Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner says the goal of the flock cameras was to improve public safety. He says his office has been very successful in using the cameras in investigations. They were provided through a county grant. The city and sheriff s office are working on a timeline to have the cameras removed.
